Activate & Nourish
TO ACTIVATE YOUR MALA:
Place your mala on a bed of dry salt overnight. The next morning, simply discard the salt.
Start the activation by wearing your mala and for each rose bead write down something you are grateful for.
For example, if the mala has 99 rose beads, then acknowledge 99 things that you are grateful for. Next day, repeat, but with 99 different things. Consider a “gratitude journal” to ensure that you don’t repeat yourself.
Continue this practice for 28 days in a row. If you forget and miss a day, you must start all over again. Once the 28 days of gratitude are completed, the mala is activated.
Your mala will get energetically charged with every expressed gratitude. The more gratitude you express, the stronger it becomes – and of course, the more gratitude the better!
TO NOURISH YOUR MALA:
We recommend you apply small amounts of rose essential oil to your mala at least once a month to clean and nourish the beads. This process will ensure its lustre and strength.
Rose essential oil has natural anti-bacterial properties and will keep your mala clean and fragrant for years to come. We carry a large selection of organic rose oils for you to choose, but we think Wild Rose Attar would be perfect.
Please ensure that you keep your mala dry at all times (no showers, swimming, baths etc). If it does get wet, simply lay it out to dry for at least a day before handling. Apply some rose oil to nourish and strengthen the beads and your mala is ready to be worn again. Avoid placing your mala in a plastic bag or container, as it needs to ‘breathe.’ A cloth bag is perfect.
Because it is made with natural organic matter, your mala is as fragile as we all can be. Handle with love and enjoy it for years to come!
Origin & Tradition
SHAKTYA PRANA GULAB MALA:
This mala is made entirely of fresh organic rose flowers grown in north central India (Gulab).
Kilos of fresh roses are ground in stone mortars and turned into a smooth paste – they are never cooked. This method ensures the fragrant rose essential oils remain intact and the mala always retains its rose essence.
The raw paste is then formed into beads by hand and dried under the hot Indian sun until the beads turn black and solidify. Even beads made from white flowers turn black when dried because of the organic nature of plant cellulose.
The artisans who create these malas belong to the Shaktya Prana tradition and are devoted to their spiritual craft.
Each mala is unique and is formulated to harness the frequency of roses, as well as all the specific gemstones, metals & numerology to assist you on your own spiritual journey.
