The sensuous essence of sandalwood is truly world renowned and India Sandalwood is no exception. Expect the iconic fragrance you know, but imagine it punctuated with warm earthy spice accords such as white pepper, roasted coriander seeds and just a touch of mace. Afterall, heartwood distillations from younger trees are rather known for exuding a strong and vigorous essence. Enjoy.

Ξ Sandalwood trees are never felled. Their oil develops in their heartwood and roots after 25 years of growth reaching maturity after about 75 years. In the rainy season old trees fall naturally and/or get uprooted. The roots, rich in oil, are then distilled to get our Vintage Sandalwood Oil. If you prefer an ‘earthier’ sandalwood note, then that’s the oil for you. For a mellower sandalwood scent, try White Santal Deluxe. It is outstanding!
Rest Assured: The sandalwood here was grown in a plantation, ethically sourced & strictly quota controlled. Completely free of alcohol & fillers.*

Consider diluting this essential oil in a carrier oil. Check out our Organic Apricot Kernel Oil. We suggest 2-3 drops of essential oil with our one-ounce bottle of Apricot Kernel Oil.
Try using this essential oil in an aromatherapy diffuser to scent your living space. Check out our Aromatherapy Copper Burner. This burner requires a very small amount of essential oil to create a beautiful aromatic experience.

We highly recommend exercising caution when applying any essential oil to your skin if you are pregnant or breastfeeding. Consult a physician if you are on any medications.
Do not apply oil on mucous membranes, broken skin, cuts and/or open wounds.

Love it

This sandalwood oil is very potent and intoxicating. I use it by itself or with the somali frankincense and it smells heavenly. I also prefer this version of sandalwood oil to the vintage sandalwood (especially when blending with other oils) and the blue sandalwood which really smells more like palo santo wood than sandalwood. If you want a strong deep sandalwood scent then this is it!

Just received some today and I just cannot stop smelling it. I have been wearing the Vintage Sandalwood from Durga for years and for some reason never gave India Sandalwood a chance. Now I am ready to try some other sandalwood oils Durga has to offer. I’m not disappointed. India Sandalwood is strong, sweet and has a slightly “sharper” top note that I am really enjoying. Both winners in my opinion.

The smell of this oil is very healing. I use it in my diffuser and it makes the room smell very fresh and clean and like being in a forest. I’m glad I took a chance and got it!
